A companion with nothing to hide.
Hermie brings your Hermes agents into a familiar chat interface on your phone, tablet, Mac and in a browser. The agents run on your machine. Hermie gives you a window into their work.
FullStack Studio develops Hermie in public. You can read the source, build your own copy, adapt it and contribute improvements under the MIT licence.

One codebase. Your gateway.
Hermie uses Expo and React Native across iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple Silicon Macs. On a Mac, it runs the iPad build with a layout that makes room for your conversations. The same source exports a browser build too.
A shared connection layer talks directly to your Hermes gateway over REST and WebSocket. Protocol sources are vendored from Hermes Agent, while the chat engine handles streaming, history and reconciliation separately from the interface.
The repository is an npm workspace. Alongside the app, packages/hermie-web is Hermie Web: a Node server with no runtime dependencies that serves the browser build and proxies one gateway onto its own origin — set up once by whoever runs it, with a message cache and an admin page of its own (how it works). A fake gateway with demo bots lets you work on the app without connecting your own agents. Third-party code and dependencies retain their own licences, recorded in the repository.

Early days. Real conversations.
Hermie is coming to the App Store and Google Play. While the store releases are being prepared, you can build the app from source.
Notifications come from a second MIT-licensed repository, hermie-plugin: a Hermes plugin that runs inside your own gateway and sends them from there. Read how it fits together.
